— Much more powerful vs Core i5-3470 than benchmarks show, for basic everyday computing. But nearly not as much value-for-money in the used market as i5-3470. Hyperthreading at the i7 level (not i3) really improves overall experience.
— *One of the CPU Gods* This is most powerful, popular, sufficient, efficient, loved, economic (used market) quad-core CPU. Can handle mid-level workstation tasks as well as 99% of all home computing with such grace and ease that it has become one of the CPU-gods.
— Most entry-level AutoCAD-certified hardware (for AutoCAD 2017). So this is the cheapest option (USD 10-12, ebay) currently for those who wish to do 2D AutoCAD with certified driver support. As a performer...meh
— For pre-Ryzen APU systems, this is the best economic alternative for non-gaming crowd; can even handle large number ( 10000) AutoCAD drawings surprisingly well; obviously low-power draw and suitable for small-footprint systems and those who like quiet at cheap. But after Ryzen APUs entered, this is definitely not good value or performance - i.e. it has become dated.
— It is probably decent value but better alternates exist (even in 2020, miner-crazed, saturated refurb-hardware market). Most suitable for older 3rd and 4th gen Intel Core CPU-based desktops.
— Basic and value-for-money card for those setting up refurb-ed 3rd and 4th gen Intel Core i CPU-based desktops, on par or better than 6th and 7th gen Intel Core iGPUs. I use it to run 2009 yr. manuf. DELL monitors at max resolution for basic tasks, large number object rendering in MS PowerPoint/other non-CAD drawing tools, and Asphalt 9 (I consider this 'basic' 3D game). Although based on HD 8570 gpu, this card (Radeon R5 240) performed better for above purposes and is also quieter than Radeon HD 8570.
— For nearly any use with a laptop, this CPU is the real deal!! I have purchased a dell-refurbished DELL 3190 with N5000 cpu and 8GB RAM, with a heat-efficient reliable 128GB m.2 SSD. This laptop is fan-less. The performance of the CPU is noticeably better than my other laptop (i7-4500U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SATA SSD). I have run Office 365 programs, AUTOCAD 2017, and image processing of large image files. Eagerly waiting for the successor CPU...
