Intel
Core i9-9900K - Poor 4 years ago.
Processors

— Double the price of the 2700x for the same 8c/16t configuration but with each core performing ~20% better. Makes no sense for the average mid-high end user (go for a 9700k, 8700k or 2700x). Anyway, if I had to buy the BEST gaming PC possible, I would take the 9900k.

Intel
Core i7-9700K - Poor 4 years ago.
Processors

— It does not seem to give a noticeable improvement over the 8700k.

— The word "balance" fits this CPU perfectly.

Nvidia
RTX 2070 - Average 5 years ago.
Graphics Cards

— The 2070 offers slightly more raw performance than the 1080 at a similar price, so it's a better option. It's not the kind of improvement someone would expect after 2.5 years, but it's an improvement. Without content using its raytracing capabilities, it's impossible to give a complete conclusion.

Nvidia
GTX 1070 - Excellent 5 years ago.
Graphics Cards

— Back in 2016/2017 it was a great deal, enabling 1440p gaming. At 2018/2019 for MSRP it is not that good. The customers are expecting more and a successor in the same price range is needed.

Nvidia
RTX 2080-Ti - Poor 5 years ago.
Graphics Cards

— Expensive but powerful. Since it is the fastest consumer GPU at the market Nvidia can put the price tag it wants. It is a premium product for enthusiasts.

Nvidia
RTX 2080 - Terrible 5 years ago.
Graphics Cards

— Released prematurely, being unable to use the technologies it includes. At traditional computing it is an underclocked 1080TI at a higher price.

The Best.
