Graphics Cards

— With the most recent price drop, you'd be a fool not to pick one up. Even if you have to sell your desk, and/or chair. Make some compromises, because the performance upgrade is definitely worth it, at least if you plan on pushing more than just a single monitor 60fps @ 1080p. This card has totally blown me away with how easily it handles running three monitors in Surround. Absolutely an essential piece of my racing simulation kit, and even has me considering VR. I've got the Hybrid FTW model, and I'm pushing well over 2000 mhz, and never going higher than 51 degrees, running some pretty serious workloads.

Processors

— Why is this chip still such a beast? I'm honestly blown away by how much staying power this old of a system build has had for me. Granted, I've been through three graphics cards, and this last one (gtx 1080 hybrid FTW) is going to transfer into a new build this year, but I really have no need or desire to put this old thing out to pasture, just yet. It'll serve for years to come, most likely, as a starter PC for my youngest child (likely with an RX 480).

The Best.
