Just needs to be a little cheaper. Ryzen 1600 for instance is more than £150 cheaper, includes a cooler, cheaper motherboards and is very competitive in multithreading workloads. In gaming, it's only around 9% slower than a 7700K and I doubt a 8700K would be much better in gaming since the vast majority of games cannot effectively utilize these extra cores. — Can run most games well or very well but cant run some really demanding games but if you are looking to play something like spiderman (ps4) or the miles morales games it can run them but between 30-60 fps with 8gb of ram
