— AMD definitely stepped up their game this year. This card goes head-to-head with Nvidia's 3080 on most games, and manages to surpass it in power efficiency, thanks to TSMC's 7nm. While the new Radeons are strong in compute and general gaming, they are still behind in raytracing and OpenGL performance, and their onboard encoder is not even close to Nvidia's.

— An impressive leap in price/performance but right now this chaotic launch makes it hard to properly review this gen.

— Nvidia ditched the Titan name to push gamers to buy this monster. However, it is priced at double the 3080 MSRP for only 20% more performance. Nvidia is going to feel the heat when the 999USD 6900XT releases.

— Great IPC and memory latency improvements this year. Intel's mid-range offerings are well behind on overall performance... Why anyone would recommend the inferior 9600K (and without hyperthreading) over this is baffling to me.

— This new 5800X is a powerhouse, but its 449USD pricing and apparently disappointing thermal performance puts it in a weird spot right now. Let us hope for a 5700X in the upcoming months...

— Pricey, but this top-of-the-line Zen 3 chip is more powerful than anything Intel has to offer today.
