Average Bench: 74% (7th of 639)

Based on 6,221 user benchmarks.  Device: VID 0781 PID 5580 Model: SanDisk Extreme

For real world usability this is currently the best 64GB flash drive (superseded by the Ventura Ultra - 2014). It has a very balanced performance profile with an exceptional 4K random write speed. The 16GB version of the Extreme is currently the value leader in the USB 3.0 flash drive shootout. At present there are no viable alternatives to the 64GB Extreme in fact the Corsair voyager GT turbo is the only drive on the horizon that may challenge the Sandisk any time soon. There are however several reports (Newegg, Amazon) of compatibility issues with this, the 64GB version (other versions are fine), so if you do go for the 64GB version, don't throw the receipt away in a hurry. [Feb '13 USBFlashPro]

Overall very solid stable performer however the slide mechanism will be an obvious point of faileure in the future.

Failed after six months with a problem that seems quite common - could read from drive, but writing would instantly cause it to freeze.—Sep '14

Bought it back in the days, thought it was quite an investment but here we are about 10 years later and the little darling is still solidly rocking past the 150 MB/s mark on the regular, with peaks even higher... All that despite using it as a multiboot USB solution for Linux ISOs and reformatting it so many times. Meanwhile, I have had two other thumb drives fail on me for much less, one Kingston Data Traveller 32 GB and one SanDisk Cruzer micro dual, and I just wish I had bought more of this impressive, ever reliable workhorse... Especially seeing how its successor is a downgrade in terms of performance! Farewell my friend, and Godspeed.—Feb '22

Best stick I had until now; also works well together with usb 2 ports on older computers.—Sep '14

Terrible

I've tested it in a benchmark and got about 150MB/s for the sequential write speed but when I try to move a 40GB .vdi file (virtual machine), it's only 40MB/s... Going back to use my external hard drive.
