Q What is UBM Effective Speed?


A A percentage measure of real world component speed.
The UBM effective speed measures performance that's relevant to typical consumer use. For example, we de-emphasize deep queue depth data transfer and heavily multi-threaded CPU workloads as these metrics are not generally consumer orientated. The below list outlines the calculation for each component class.
CPU
The effective CPU speed index is weighted as 30% single-core, 60% quad-core and 10% multi-core.

Our suite of UBM tests includes six 3D game simulations, these tests estimate frames per second for modern games. Nvidia GTX 1070 ~= 100%.

The effective SSD speed index is weighted as 50% sequential, 34% shallow queue 4K and 16% deep queue 4K. Samsung 850 Pro ~= 100%.
